How to Build Outdoor Metal Fire Pits

An outdoor metal fire pit can be a fantastic addition to anyone's backyard. When the weather begins to get cold fire pits can be terrific places to enjoy quiet conversations. And a fire pit can be just the place you look forward to getting away to after a hard day at work.

3. The next logical step is of course the construction with a toasted marshmallow is a smore. Some flat chocolate bars, you know the kind, graham crackers and you have one of the quintessential outdoor desserts known to mankind.* Increased accessibility for handicapped or physically challenged guests.7) No heavy equipment required.2. After a meal by using the patio fire pit everyone wants dessert. Well break out the marshmallows. Give all the kids a metal skewer with a cool handle and step back. There is not a kid from three to ninety three who hasnt had a fun time with a fire and trying not to burn the marshmallows.* Fire pits can be easily relocated, as this product is modular.1. While most patio fire pits come with a grill, who needs one to do up some hot dogs? What a fantastic summer time meal. A package of dogs, a package of bins and chips equals an instant meal. Throw in a few carrot sticks or other raw veggies and you have a decent meal. With very little prep work everyone will be happy they were there.Although homemade fire pits are a wonderful addition to any backyard, many people prefer the safety and convenience of using a low cost, professionally manufactured fire pit. Then, to ensure that there is proper drainage, fill the hole with six inches of gravel. Once that is done you can put the metal ring in the hole.Next you should pick an appropriate metal ring size. Many metal shops have a pretty wide variety of fire pit rings to choose from. The most common sizes are 48 inches, 36 inches, and 29 inches.Environmental Benefits:5. There is not better purpose for a bed of coals and grill on a patio fire pit than laying on a one inch thick rib eye steak. A few minutes on each side and a perfectly done steak. Only one more thing that could be done to enhance the flavor of a good steak is to smoke it a little. While any fruit wood, apple, orange, pear wood is great pecan, hickory or mesquite would do quite well. Soak the chips for a while in a bucket of water. Throw them on right before putting on the steak and let the smoke begin. A trick I picked up on a while back is to finds an old pot or pan lid that you can cover the meat while it is cooking. This will circulate the smoke around the meat while it is cooking. This will help to intensify the smoke flavor while using a patio fire pit.
