New Orleans-area restaurants grab dining dollars through online

In January 2010, as the New Orleans Saints climbed their way to a Super Bowl victory, Alon Shaya, executive chef at Domenica in downtown New Orleans, started firing up the restaurant's wood-fired pizza oven an hour early to capture more hungry football fans on Sundays.

Four coarse-grained, specular hematite-rich grab samples collected by Champion in 2010 from mineralized bedrock in close proximity to the O'Keefe Lake Iron Occurrence, returned grades from 22.9% to 35.5% FeT (see Champion Press Release dated Dec. 15, 2010).An ongoing, fully-funded, 60,000 m diamond-drilling program is scheduled for eight of Champion's Fermont projects in 2011.Champion is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Chrystal Kennedy, P. Geo. to the position of Exploration Manager for the Company. Ms. Kennedy is a qualified Professional Geoscientist with over 14 years of mineral exploration plus geotechnical, environmental and hydrocarbon exploration experience. As Champion continues to deploy additional drills to its Fermont properties, Ms. Kennedy's primary responsibility will be to assist in exploration project development and management, coordination of field logistics and maintaining quality control of field activities. The three additional drills scheduled to arrive in July will be deployed to the O'Keefe-Purdy Project to validate and potentially expand upon the Historical Mineral Resources(i) estimate of 51 million tonnes grading 37% FeT at the O'Keefe Lake Iron Occurrence (MRNFQ Assessment File GM31090, 1975). A total of 10,000 m of drilling is planned at the O'Keefe-Purdy Project and will include validation and extensional drilling at the O'Keefe Lake Iron Occurrence at the west end of the Project, and will also explore the relatively untested 19 kilometre strike length of iron formation that extends across the Project."People play around with it and will add one or two more toppings than usual," Crochet said. The partners join a growing group of early adopters in New Orleans, where market forces are pushing more restaurants to consider online ordering."We're a come-sit-down-and-enjoy-yourself kind of place," said Marin, chief restaurant operations officer. Here are some tips for effective and safe use:
"Now there's a movement to cross those segments and to capture other parts of the existing market," Williams said, adding that the cost to set up online ordering is now more palatable. With the wide selection of outdoor heating devices available, you're sure to find one that right's for you. So heat up the night - and go right on enjoying your outdoor space. At Domenica, the partners are less worried about how the numbers pan out. Online ordering, Shaya said, is about simplicity. The technical information in this news release was reviewed and approved by Jeff Hussey, P. Geo., Executive VP Development of the Company and a Qualified Person under NI 43-101 standards.
  • Natural gas heaters are easy to use but are usually built in and, although bottled gas may be purchased, are best limited to those areas that have natural gas service. At Naked Pizza, Crochet said online orders are about 15 percent higher on average. The chain's online ordering portal allows people to pick and choose toppings to throw on a virtual pizza.Champion's Fermont Holdings comprise seventeen properties, three of which - Fire Lake North, Bellechasse and Harvey-Tuttle - currently contain combined NI 43-101 compliant Inferred Mineral Resources totalling 1.55 Billion Tonnes grading 25.4 % FeT at a 15% cut-off. The Company also recently announced positive results from drilling at the Moire Lake(i) Project (May 19, 2011), which is adjacent to the east of ArcelorMittal's Mont Wright Mine property. A Mineral Resource estimate is scheduled for the Moire Lake(i) Project in Q3-2011. Seven of the remaining fourteen properties contain combined Historical Mineral Resource Estimates(i) totalling 620 MT grading 31% FeT.But he acknowledges takeout is a growing market. Copeland's started experimenting with a third-party online ordering system two years ago.
  • Wood-burning fireplaces and fire pits are generally the least expensive to buy and to operate. Check for zoning ordinances to be sure that you can burn wood on your property. Some municipalities allow wood burning in a small chimenea unit, but will not approve a built-in or dug fire pit. Wood-burning units range from small collapsible units on wheels for easy portability to huge built-in concrete fireplaces. If you are permitted to burn wood, you are sure to find a unit to suit your needs!"It was an easy button for us and customers," Marin said.(i) Historical Mineral Resources are from Paquet, 1963 (MRNFQ Assessment File GM 13035) (see press release date February 15, 2011).All Historical Mineral Resources outlined in the text are non-compliant to NI 43-101 Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves standards, and should therefore not be relied upon. A Qualified Person has not done sufficient work to upgrade or classify these Historical Mineral Resources as current NI 43-101 compliant Mineral resources. The current Mineral Resource estimates were calculated using the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), CIM Standards on Mineral Resources and Reserves, Definitions and Guidelines prepared by the CIM Standing Committee on Reserve Definitions and adopted by CIM Council December 11, 2005.
  • Although electric heat is usually the most expensive, there are a few electric heaters designed specifically for outdoor use. Be sure that any heater that is left outside is rated as such.
What Paul McGoey, owner of New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Co., looks forward to is potential savings. He looks to launch online ordering at his eight New Orleans area locations in a month.Even as fans filled the trendy tables and barstools, Shaya said the rotating wood-fired oven wasn't churning out the hundreds of pizzas it could per day. So the partners set their sights on take- out, designing an online order feature for the restaurant's website. Business soared immediately.Shaya and his staff now make about 400 pizzas on a good day. Ten percent of orders are take-out and 20 percent of those orders are from the website.Corporate Up-date
  • Propane-powered "mushroom" or "umbrella" heaters (so called because of their shape) are the best choice for heating large areas. They radiate warming rays from the top cylinder and provide a comfort zone of 12 - 20 feet in diameter. The propane tank is hidden in the bottom of the unit. It's a good idea to put these units away when not in use as they can be sensitive to the elements. Smaller tabletop units are also available.Charlie Jeffers, CEO of TakeOut Technologies in Aliso Viejo, Calif., has helped restaurants implement online ordering since 2005. Smaller restaurants are thrown by the time and cost associated with integrating their entire electronic sales system with online ordering, he said.Jeffers said more restaurants want to not only capture more market share but to use electronic ordering data to learn about their customers. Plus, online orders tend to be about $10 higher than orders taken by phone, he said.

"Right now we're just happy making it easy for people to get a pizza," Shaya said.
